Wheal Prudence Mine, Cornwall

Wheal Prudence Mine, Cornwall

The cliffs westward to Perranporth were extensively worked by small, and in many cases ancient mines such as Wheal Ocean and Wheal Prudence, the best known of these being in the geologically complex area of Cligga Head

1940 the military had blown it up Wheal Prudence and two other stacks.to avoid them being used by enemy planes as a marker for the aerodrome.
