The Newquay Golf Club was formed in 1890 and the Club House is in "The Tower", a fine Victorian mansion, originally built in 1834.

The open links nature of the course makes accuracy the key to good scoring at Newquay. The exposed position means that wind is a major factor. There are also some very demanding greenside bunkers. Newquay has been the host for many County golf events.
